Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the MDDV platform, security, and capabilities.
Product
MDDV is a 6th-generation Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) platform. It provides a single, zero-footprint viewer for all technical data formats - S1000D, SGML, DITA, PDF, Xyvision, and 3D - simultaneously and interchangeably, with no plugins, installs, or extensions required.
Standard IETM classifications go from Class 1 (electronic page images) through Class 5 (integrated, context-sensitive presentation with AI-aided diagnostics). MDDV defines Class 6 as extending beyond Class 5 by adding integrated digital wiring (LiveWire™), fleet-wide analytics (I-See™), AI-powered troubleshooting, automatic maintenance logging, and training in a single zero-footprint platform.
S1000D (all issues including 6.0), SGML (MIL-STD-38784), DITA, PDF, Xyvision/XPP, 3D/CATIA models, and HD video. All formats are rendered natively - no conversion required.
MDDV runs entirely in a web browser with no plugins, installs, extensions, or client-side software of any kind. It works on any operating system, any device, connected or disconnected.
Yes. MDDV is commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) and is fully patented technology. It is available through the GSA Schedule (Contract 47QTCA19D00K6) for streamlined government procurement.
Security
Yes. MDDV is USAF Network Certified per AFI 33-210/17-101 and listed on the Air Force Evaluated/Approved Products List. It is certified for both NIPR and SIPR (classified) networks.
USAF Network Certification, SIPRNet approval, CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance. MDDV supports CAC (Common Access Card) authentication and SSO/federation.
Yes. MDDV is the only IETM certified for SIPRNet (Secret-level classified network). It supports portion marking and all required security controls for classified technical data.
Technical
Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) is a DoD maintenance strategy that uses data to predict and prevent equipment failures. MDDV automatically logs every maintenance action - what was done, by whom, when, and how long it took - feeding this data into fleet analytics for CBM+ analysis.
LiveWire is MDDV’s integrated digital wiring module. It provides interactive schematics linked directly to maintenance procedures, with applicability filtering by ECT/CCT/PCT. A senior USAF maintainer noted that what takes 2-3 hours with legacy tools takes 30 seconds with LiveWire.
Connected (networked), disconnected (standalone with local data), embedded (integrated into other systems), and cloud (MDDV 365 via AWSGC government cloud).
